Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival
Miguel Gutierrez' Truth band was one of the absolute programming highlights of the 2001 Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival. The Detroit-based Latin Jazz artists outshone many of his national and international counterparts on the festival's main stage and virtually took almost everyone in attendance by surprise. He's a great musician and his band is first rate. Any festibal presenter or producer woul dbe wise to give him a performance slot. This guy will definitely deliver?

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to your group, Truth, for participating in this years Scott Shuptrine Petoskey Jazz Festival. Truth, in opinion of many people who attended, was the hit of the Festival, with their performances on Friday and Saturday nights at the City Park Grill and also on the main stage Saturday in Festival Park. The quality and energy of the musical performance was extraordinary, especially the percussion work of Miguel Gutierrez, who had the audience begging for more. Again thanks for your performances and making the Schott Shuptrine Petoskey Jazz Festival a musical success.

The City of Lathrup Village
To Whom It May Concern:
On August 28, 2002 the City of Lathrup Village welcomed the band "Truth" to the City's 2002 summer "Concerts in the Park" series. The groups five members, lead by the founder and leader, Miguel Gutierrez, entertained the audience with a special blend of Latin-jazz and "worldbeat" music. After the concert was concluded, many of the audience members inquired where they would be playing their next "gig".
"Truth" was well received by the audience and was rated among the top two groups performing at the serires. THe group will definitely be invited back for you 2003 summer concert series, which we suspect will draw a large crowd.
On a perfonal note, I would like to say what a pleasure it was to work with the group's leader, Mr. Gutierrez, and would highly recommend them for any local communities "Concert in the Park" series.

Miguel Gutierrez is an explosive and dynamic drummer, percussionist, and teacher whose magic touch and ability to move with ease into many different styles will mesmerize the listener. His rhythmic training, musical sensitivity and immense love for his art form shines through each instrument. The owner and founder of Professional Drum and Percussions Studies (www.prodrumstudies.com), Miguel has taught drums and percussion for more than 31 years. He is busy with studio sessions, clinics and performances, and is the leader of the Detroit based world rhythm jazz group 'Truth'. He is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society, has served on the faculty at William Tyndale Christian College, and has been an instructor with Meditation Outreach- instructing the visually impaired.
